On Friday July 29, the AMEDD Foundation Board of Directors held its quarterly meeting. Conducted by Foundation Chairman, BG (Ret) Dan Perugini, highlights for the 36 attendees included updates by the Executive Committee on the Capital Campaign, recent donations and bequests, special projects, and new additions to the Board of Directors.

The Foundation Treasurer, Barbara Becerra, provided a financial update and Margie O’Connell, Gift Shop Manager, updated the group on the present state of the Gift Shop.   The Museum Director, Mr. Andy Watson, updated the group on current museum activities and thanked the Board for its recent purchase of the William Emerson military medical insignia collection. The 274-piece assemblage dates between the 1880’s and 1960’s and was purchased by the Foundation for $13, 430 to enhance the Museum’s artifact collection.

After other business, the Board adjoined to the Museum lobby to celebrate the birthdays’ of two of its Founders – BG (Ret) Chuck Elia and Mrs. Alice Neel, wife of MG (Ret) Spurgeon Neel.

The purpose of the quarterly Board meetings is to update the Directors on the Foundation work and solicit their input for future operations and goals. The next Quarterly Board meeting will be Friday, October 28^th at 11:00 AM at the Museum. All are welcome.
