MG Pat Sculley with IHG check

International Hotel Group supports Foundation goals

On June 29th, 2016 representatives from Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) made a $2000.00 donation to the AMEDD Museum Foundation. IHG, an international hotel group that manages a number of worldwide hotel brands such as Holiday Inn, Staybridge Suites, and Candlewood Suites, has contracted with the Army and Lendlease (the hotel owner group) to manage on-post lodging at Ft Sam Houston and 40 other Army posts in the US.

IHG employees were in town for a leadership conference in San Antonio. Taking a tour of Ft. Sam Houston, the AMEDD Museum, and the IHG Army Hotels located on post, was a perfect way for the IHG employees to get a better understanding of military life – past, present, and future. They were impressed with the Museum and exhibits as presented by Foundation leaders who conducted the tour – CEM Maxwell, Building and Grounds Chairman, Herb Coley the Foundation President, and Dave Windsor, Head Volunteer Tour Guide. Dr. Sculley further stated that “IHG is an important partner in the mission of Ft. Sam Houston, housing our students during their training here and supporting the lodging needs of the Service Family while they use the health facilities of the San Antonio Military Medical command. I look forward to continued partnership with these friends of the Museum.”

Accepting the check on behalf of the Foundation, was MG (Ret) Patrick Sculley, Vice President of Development for the Foundation.
