Foundation supports MEDCOM Best Medic 2018 Competition

On Thursday, 20 September 2018, the Museum Foundation hosted breakfast for 27 candidate teams, cadre, chain of command, and family members to mark the completion of the 2018 Army Best Medic Competition.  The annual competition took place at Fort Sam Houston and Camp Bullis, Texas, and wrapped up on Wednesday, 19 September. Corporate Donations for the Capital Campaign

Donations to the Capital Campaign arrive from two notable corporate sponsors. The Foundation is delighted to announce that local Santikos Entertainment and nationally based Optum Health both made recent contributions to our Capital Campaign. 2017 Neel Award Ceremony

The 2017 Spurgeon Neel Writing Award was presented at the recent Foundation Board meeting on 4 May 2018.  This year’s winner, chosen from among a competitive field, was Justin Barr, MD, PhD on the staff at Department of Surgery, Duke University Medical Center.  His essay entitled “America’s Guerilla Hospitals in the Vietnam War” won the competition.   The award plaque and a check for $1000 was presented, via telelink, to Dr. Barr by Mrs Alice Neel, a long-time member […]
